“A Merakulous Life”

Why Travel?

Because “If we were meant to stay in one place, we would have roots instead of feet” – Rachel Wolchin

Travel writers are often expected to create a niche; however, I find it difficult. The essence of travel is to experience different ways of life to understand that ours is not the only way.

I can’t say about the “Seven wonders of World”; however, the world in itself is a wonderland. Ever thought what makes us leave our familiar surroundings and seek solace somewhere else? Why is the sudden urge to be in an unknown place, yearning for something as granted as a sunrise or sunset, the mere sight of a river or smiling faces around? Because that is essentially how it was meant to be. In our pursuit for greener pastures, we often miss the everyday miracles around. It took several outer and subsequent inner journeys to slow down and understand the importance of “Being in the moment”.

Meraki (pronounced may-RAH-kee) is a Greek word which means “the soul, creativity or love you put into something; the essence of yourself you put into your work”.  There is no substitute for a life lived with the utmost passion. When your heart and soul is in the right place, as insignificant as it might seem – miracles happen, everyday.

Letting others into your world is not easy – it is nothing but a risk. One, I am willing to take now.

Over years, I have visited different places and often one led me to another. The narration format is not necessarily as Travel Guides but a curation of experience on the go and took shape as suitable. This is not the beginning, just a change of course in my path to lead “A Merakulous Life” 🙂
